Giving up RUNNING to protect your knees

It’s the standard excuse among the jogging-averse: ‘Running is so bad for your knees, though…’ Well, its clout as a get-out clause is null and void, according to Dr Grace Hsiao-wei Lo of the Baylor College of Medicine in the US. Dr Hsiao-wei Lo found, in a study of 2,683 participan­ts that spanned eight years, that those who ran regularly actually reported the least knee pain and fewer symptoms of arthritis compared with the rest of the group.
