DR PEPPER

Why stick to salads and stir-fries? Use peppers’ nutritional prowess at every meal

-

1 Feeling forgetful? Peppers could be the secret to a sharper mind, according to 2015 research*. The fruit (yep, pepper is a fruit – mind blown) is rich in vitamin K, folate and lutein, an age-defying trio found to slow cognitive decline. Clever crudité. 2 It doesn’t always pay to go green. Red and orange pepper varieties are richer in vitamin C – with approximately 230% and 150% respectively of your RDA per small pepper, compared with 99% in green.

The future’s orange (and red). 3 Peppers (particularly red and orange – sorry, greens) contain powerful plant pigments such as beta-carotene, which have been shown to boost protection against Uvb-induced DNA damage and ease skin irritations. How do you like that, sunshine?
