Your European champions had 10 players who either came through the Sporting youth ranks or still play there. How significant is that to you?

As national coach, I don’t want to think along tribal lines. All I know is that Portugal’s future is dependant on the work in the clubs. If the groundwork, the basics, are not right, the federation’s structures aren’t so good. The clubs are our construction workers.
