After 11 successive seasons in Serie A, Cagliari were relegated a year ago, but the ease with which the Sardinian club immediately bounced back, winning the second tier, augurs well. Experienced players such as goalkeeper Marco Storari, utility man Simone Padoin (both ex-Juventus) and Euro 2016 winner Bruno Alves (from Fenerbahce) should make a telling contribution.
