The US and Sweden both had a goal wrongly disallowed during extra-time in the Final, and there was a ludicrous dismissal of New Zealand captain Abby Erceg early on, but generally the refereeing was better than at the World Cup, which was also entirely staffed with female officials. This augers well for the future.
