One of three excellent midfield prospects to arrive at the Stadio San Paolo in the close season – the others being Amadou Diawara (Bologna and Guinea) and Piotr Zielinski (Udinese and Poland) – the 21-year-old Dinamo Zagreb starlet is arguably the best of the lot.

Oozing class and creativity, he can operate either centrally or out wide and is especially dangerous when surging forward from deep. His temperament was there for all to see at Euro 2016, filling in superbly for the injured Luka Modric in Croatia’s group phase victory over Spain.

Napoli have him on loan, with a 12.5m move in the offing next year.
