A key figure in his club’s first-ever Belgian league title in 2014-15, he does a fine job with or without the ball, offering bite in the tackle, aerial ability and a large dash of attacking thrust. From the Bahia region of northern Brazil, he came through Sporting’s prolific youth ranks in Lisbon and has also played for Cercle Brugge and Hungarian side Videoton.
