NOT A GOOD START

Bangladesh’s Mahfuza Akhter Kiron was elected AFC’s female FIFA Council representative ahead of Moya Dodd of Australia. But Akhter Kiron’s credentials as a champion of the women’s game were cast into doubt when she took three attempts to correctly name the reigning world champions. Having suggested North Korea, then Japan, she finally named the USA. Alex Morgan, a member of that 2015 World Cupwinning team, responded by tweeting: “You gotta be f***ing kidding me.”
