PUGH STAYING PUT

After much deliberation Mallory Pugh, the outstanding US teenager, joined Washington Spirit in the NWSL. An international regular while still at college, Paris Saint-Germain led a queue of interested European clubs, and would have paid a higher salary, but staying in the US is likely to have been a factor in Pugh signing a sponsorship deal with Nike.
