Circumnavigator’s message in a bottle discovered

A message in a bottle, thrown overboard by Randall Reeves during his record-breaking Figure 8 voyage, has been found in the Bahamas.

Antarctic continents in one season, threw the bottle over the side on day 216 of his 306 day voyage as he headed towards Halifax, Nova Scotia. The Kremers found the bottle 11 months later on 15 April 2020.

Speaking to YM, Reeves said the message was one of several for his wife, Joanna. It asks the finder to ‘tell my wife I love her and miss her and will do my best to be home for the holidays.’ Further messages dropped in the Pacific and Southern Oceans have yet to be found.
