Search for Peter Gerard’s former students
A researcher into the life of Dulcie Kennard, who wrote for Yachting Monthly under the name Peter Gerard in the
1920s and 1930s, is searching for her former sailing students.
Josephine Bennington would like to hear from anyone who was taught by Kennard, who was an avid sailor and yachting journalist, as well as one of the first people to establish a sailing school. She trained students along the coast of Cornwall and Devon. Kennard married YM editor Maurice Griffiths in 1927, although the couple subsequently divorced in 1934. She went on to marry the maritime painter, Charles Pears, and lived in St Mawes, Cornwall.
Anyone with information is asked to email Josephine at josephinebennington@ gmail.com.
