What is it? Custom-designed electric propulsion system

Who is it for? Racers requiring optimum weight saving and streamlining

The racing community is increasingly embracing electric propulsion and in doing so providing a valuable testbed for further development and innovation that will ultimately benefit cruising yachts.

In the last Vendée Globe race Conrad Colman proved that a power hungry boat can complete a circumnavigation without using fossil fuels to generate electricity. Equally, a number of smaller boats, such as the Rustler 24, have been successfully equipped with electric propulsion. At the same time, Torqeedo is making conventional petrol driven outboard motors look increasingly cumbersome both for keelboats and tenders.
