At Seafarer we have always believed flotilla sailing is a great choice for all no matter if you’ve just finished your training or you are experienced and looking for new horizons.
Certainly, if you like the idea of sailing in company, meeting up with other sailors in the evening or finding a lead crew waiting to catch your lines at a reserved mooring, then a flotilla holiday is definitely for you.
For the relatively new skipper still building on your experience and confidence, the advantages are obvious, with the guidance and support of the lead crew invaluable.
A flotilla can be very sociable and is ideal for families, groups of friends and couples who enjoy some like-minded company ashore. Often new friendships are made that can endure long after the end of the holiday.
Not just for beginners
For us, one of the most important advantages of booking a flotilla is the local knowledge and support of the lead crew regardless of your experience. Cruising in unfamiliar waters in a foreign country can be stressful. Research can help, of course, but websites and guidebooks can become quickly out of date. Taking some of the guesswork out of the equation will ensure you go to all the best places the area has to offer.
At Seafarer we have a policy of trying to promote the history and culture of our destinations so your lead crew will be knowledgeable and advise you on what to see and do. They will also arrange transport and excursions to other points of interest.
Seafarer’s approach to flotilla is different to other companies. We keep our flotillas smaller with usually 6-8 yachts and never more than 12. We aim to be flexible with the opportunity to venture off independently if

you wish or stay out longer to enjoy the sailing. All social activities in the evenings are optional and our daily briefings ensure you have all the information needed to enjoy your day.
The widest choice
This year Seafarer is launching two new flotillas in some amazing destinations. Our Thailand Flotilla is based out of Phuket and is the only flotilla in this amazing country. This runs from January to April. We are also launching our Saronic Gulf and Corinth flotilla in May which gives sailors the chance to transit the iconic Corinth Canal.
Our classic choices in Greece include the Ionian, Sporades and Dodecanese islands along with some special explorer trips.
In Croatia, we offer both the Southern Dalmatian Islands and Montenegro sailing from Dubrovnik and the central Dalmatian Islands including the Kornati and Krka National Parks.
Along with these we also have flotillas in the Lycian Coast of Turkey and the South of France, a great option for non-flyers, with simple and fast train options.
As a small company we can also offer loads of flexibility including stay and sail options at our Nikiana Beach Club and elsewhere, or a trans-european overland adventure on your way to your destination.
