DUFOUR 530
This Umberto Felci-designed model marks a change of strategy for Dufour and recognises there are now fewer differences in hull shape between cruising yachts and performance designs than in the past. The concept of the 530 is therefore a merger of the different hull shapes of Dufour’s Grand Large and Performance lines, but is offered in three versions, with deck layouts configured for different types of sailing.
The 530 Easy has a pared-down layout with all lines, including the coachroof-mounted mainsheet, led aft to the helm positions. This

facilitates single-person operation, while allowing for an uncluttered guest cockpit ahead of the working area, albeit at the expense of additional friction in some of the lines.
The Ocean version has a more traditional deck layout, with halyards led aft to the helm positions, but additional winches to facilitate both mainsail and headsail trimming. There’s also a full-width coachroof mainsheet traveller. Finally, the Performance package includes upgraded spars, a deeper lead keel, and a hydraulic package.
All versions include the now-trademark Dufour barbecue and external galley at the aft end of the cockpit. In addition, the transom area has been reconfigured to provide convenient stowage for safety equipment, including liferaft, plus easy access for servicing and repair of technical systems.
The high-volume hull includes broad forward sections and the boat is offered with layouts ranging from a spacious three cabin/three heads arrangement for private owners to six cabins for charter work.
