York­shire prices fell in Jan­uary

NEW FIG­URES: The lat­est data from the Land Reg­istry shows that an­nual house prices rose by an av­er­age of 6.2 per cent in Eng­land and Wales, which takes the av­er­age prop­erty value in the UK to £218,255. Monthly prices rose by 0.8 per cent be­tween De­cem­ber 2016 and Jan­uary 2017. York­shire saw the most sig­nif­i­cant monthly price fall with a move­ment of -2.6 per cent but an­nual prices grew 2.7 per cent be­tween Jan­uary 2016 and Jan­uary 2017. The East of Eng­land had the big­gest anunual in­crease over the 12 months with a rise of 9.4 per cent. Lon­don saw the great­est monthly price growth with an in­crease of three per cent.
