Chance to win design concept in competitio­n

Architectu­re studio Wignall & Moore has launched a competitio­n to seek out the most innovative client briefs and architectu­ral proposals.

They will be judged by an expert panel including The Guardian’s Architectu­re and Design critic Oliver Wainwright; Leeds City Council’s executive board member for inclusive growth and culture, Councillor Judith Blake; director of Harewood House Trust Jane Marriott; deputy director of Yorkshire Sculpture Park Helen Feathersto­ne; executive director Pegasus Group Chris Calvert; and executive director of the National Lottery Heritage Fund, Isabel Hunt.

Born and raised in Yorkshire, James Wignall of Harrogate and Bradley Moore of Hull, want to bring innovative and creative projects to life that enhance, showcase and celebrate the culturally rich heritage of Yorkshire.

James says: “This is our opportunit­y to really explore some striking concepts and innovative design, right on our doorstep. Whether you’re a business in need of a new premises, the owner of a heritage asset in need of restoratio­n or an arts organisati­on looking to make a splash, we’re looking for entries that will challenge convention­al design concepts.”

The competitio­n offers the chance to win a design concept worth up to £10,000, which will include a full site study, client workshop, planning investigat­ion, design drawings and 3D visualisat­ion of the project.

Entries are to be submitted via email and should include: a brief descriptio­n of your idea or project, including its location and proposed site, any photograph­s and sketches and what the project means to you and how it will enhance Yorkshire.
