It had previously been in the same ownership for 50 years and, whilst clearly loved, it was in need of updating.
“We fell in love with it instantly and it wasn’t just with the house, the large garden was a big draw.
“It all needed work but that wasn’t a problem because we like a project. I do a lot of the DIY and my wife has the vision on design and does the styling so we make a good team,” says Jason.
The couple have renovated the period property from top to bottom while retaining its original features and adding in some contemporary style.
They have also invested in solar panels on the roof, which are a big selling point now we are in the grip of an energy crisis.
The Morans are selling to move closer to work and their family but says Jason: “If we could pick the house up and move it to where we need to be, we would.
“We have loved living here.
The house has such a warm and homely feel and Cudworth is a great village with plenty of amenities and rural walks as it is on the Trans Pennine Trail.”
Pear Tree House has an entrance hallway with the original balustrade and staircase, a sitting room with cornicing and Victorian column radiators and a cloakroom.
Also on the ground floor is a dining/sitting room and a large dining kitchen with integrated appliances, a utility room and a sunroom with bifold doors onto the decked courtyard garden.
There is also a cellar with a storage area and a workshop.
