Live a life less ordinary with Shackletons

-

SHACKLETONS Home & Garden is on a mission to help people live a life less ordinary – indoors and out. And right now, its Interiors Summer Sale makes it a great time to buy.

This inspirational store is just over the Lancashire border, but the roots of the family who own and run it are in Yorkshire. Originally from Mirfield, the Shackletons moved to Grindleton, a village once within the Yorkshire boundary.

Today, the showroom, which is just over 10 minutes from Skipton, is home to many Yorkshire-crafted products, with Royal Oak bespoke dining furniture made in Grassington, Healthbeds of Rotherham (the bed brand of choice for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge) and wool fabrics from Hebden Bridge.

Customisation is a key theme, and nowhere is this more evident than with Shackletons’ exclusive Custom & Co upholstery range, which features 20 new designs for 2015. You can choose from an eclectic range of styles and sizes, and from hundreds of fabrics. And via its simpleto-use website ‘Fabric Configurator’, you can view exactly how your sofa or chair would look, either online at home or in store with the help of an interiors expert. What’s more, each piece is made in the traditional way in the UK - with a hardwood frame glued, screwed and/ or dowelled, and comes with a five-year structural guarantee and accidental damage warranty.

For first-time buyers, the Simplicity own label range of sofas and chairs offers exceptional value for money, quick delivery and a two-year structural guarantee.

The store is home to other famous brands too, including Alexander & James, Tetrad Harris Tweed, John Sankey and Himolla reclining sofas and chairs.

You can even buy the fabric Shackletons holds by the metre, or have curtains, throws and cushions made. There’s even a re-upholstery service, so you can refresh a much-loved furniture, or match a favourite piece with your new purchases.

Dining room furniture is presented in many styles, to suit traditional and contemporary tastes, and is beautifully crafted by the likes of Willis & Gambier and Neptune.

And within its 11 ranges of bedroom furniture, from the flamboyant to country style, some styles are also available in a variety of paint colours. The store is also a stockist of Farrow & Ball paints.

“We have a premium offer but not at premium prices,” explained David Shackleton, who established the business 17 years ago with brother Paul, first as a garden nursery and then a garden centre, earning a strong reputation with outdoor furniture before extending the business and creating an interiors department four years ago. “We can be up to 35 to 40 per cent cheaper than the RRP because of our buying power.”

All of this quality and choice comes with incredible value for money and Price Promise Plus, Shackletons’ guarantee of
