Local ales and locally sourced ingredients at the Butchers Arms in Hepworth
The Butchers Arms in Hepworth has had a great start to 2017, coming 35th out of the UK’s top 50 gastro pubs and mentioned in the Sunday Telegraph as one the top 50 UK pubs for Sunday lunch. The pub was also recently shortlisted for a record four Oliver awards by the Yorkshire Evening Post.
Mark Hogan, Caroline Kimber and their team have been at the pub for three years and have worked tirelessly to create their own business identity and reputation. Judging by their recent accolades that hard work is paying off.
The couple are committed to staying in the pub and developing the business further, while staying true to their ethos of being a village pub with great food.
It stocks a range of Yorkshire cask ales, holds the Cask Marque accreditation and has been Huddersfield CAMRA pub of the season.
Alongside the well kept local ales are a great selection of quality wines and spirits, the Butchers Arms being one of the first outlets for the fabulous, locallydistilled, Angel Gin.
The food offer ranges from pub food to a more sophisticated a la carte, with a great value Prix Fixe menu available midweek, alongside Mark’s legendary Thai and South East Asian cuisine.
“We are really looking forward to spring and summer this year, we have some exciting developments for our outdoor space, including the addition of a wood fired pizza oven, which we are hoping to open at the end of April,” said Caroline.
“Mothering Sunday is on March 26, and we have a Thai night on March 29 while later in the year Mark is to host a series of one-day cookery courses.”
