Impact and maturity for your garden
Wykeham Mature Plants specialise in rapidly transforming gardens using trees, shrubs and instant hedging in mature sizes for immediate effect.
If your garden lacks privacy, you have gaps to fill or you want to add some instant “wow factor”, they can help you to achieve your vision.
Wykeham Mature Plants is famous for providing instant hedging and screening but they also grow a range of large specimen shrubs to add maturity to any garden or landscape.
Carefully-selected shrub planting forms the backbone of ornamental planting schemes, whether for low maintenance and contemporary designs, or for more traditional mixed or cottage garden styles.
At Wykeham Mature Plants you can choose a selection of ornamental shrubs to suit any soil type and to provide interest and colour throughout the year.
One shrub which you may not be aware of, but one which will be the star attraction of your spring garden, is Amelanchier lamarckii (Snowy Mespilis). This graceful shrub has a light, airy habit providing dappled shade and can be grown into open, multi-stemmed specimens which are equally at home in formal garden designs or in more naturalistic landscapes.
Regular clipping will produce a denser shrub for use where space is limited or even as an ornamental and informal hedge. Suited to most soil types, as long as they are not too limy, Amelanchier usually produces its magnificent display of starshaped white blossom in mid to late April but, after such a mild, soggy winter, they are flowering early this spring and should be at their peak right now.
In autumn, if planted where it can receive plenty of direct sunlight, Amelanchier will reward you with a fiery display of autumn foliage splendour.
Amelanchier is just one example of a wide range of interesting and impactful specimens grown by Wykeham Mature Plants. They also offer full advisory and planting services; their award-winning team have supplied and planted some of the most prestigious garden and landscape projects in the north of England over the past four decades, so you can be confident you are in safe hands.
You can visit the nursery yourself or you can book a home consultation so that one of their knowledgeable, experienced horticulturalists can assess your site and advise accordingly. Alternatively, email photos, measurements and your contact telephone number to discuss your requirements with an informal, no-commitment chat.
Whichever way you contact them, you can rely on straightforward advice to help ensure your plants thrive.
