My list

- A respected artist, Anita Bowerman is based in Harrogate. The former buyer for Liberty had an open-air installation on show at Castle Howard this summer for its Land Art event in aid of the Yorkshire Cancer Trust.

I’m currently reading: It’s a really wonderful book that I picked up for a knock-down price in a bookshop. It was first published just under ten years ago, and it’s by fashion designer and artist Celia Birtwell – along with Dominic Lutyens. There are tons of illustrations from right across her career, alongside fashion sketches and photographs.

I’ve been listening to: Carla Bruni’s Little French Songs. She’s the lady who has had an amazing life, as a singer, songwriter, superstar model and, along the way, being the wife to Nicolas Sarkozy, the former French prime minister. Her music is often on in the background in the gallery – it just suits the mood.

On TV, I’ve been watching: My son Hector and I, (he’s 17, and he really wants to go to art college at some point) sat and watched TV together during lockdown, which is pretty unusual in itself, and what kept us glued to the screen was Grayson’s Art Club. It was Grayson Perry, of course, one of our leading artists, and we love him. I loved his recent exhibition at Temple Newsam.

The live performance I’d recommend is: Nature. You just can’t beat it. Get out for a walk, and just look and listen to everything that is around you.

My next box set was: Ashes to Ashes. It’s set in the early Eighties and I loved seeing the fashions and hearing the music, because that was when I was getting into college, and having a lot of fun. Some of it is very gritty, at other times it’s very funny indeed. A trip down memory lane in a lot of ways.

Anita works and exhibits at the Dove Tree Gallery in Harrogate. She also tutors art courses. www. anitabowerman.co.uk
