Princely sum: A hard-to-find early

20th century Gauge II live steam locomotive, the Black Prince, made by the German firm Schoenner, realised £4,200 at a Tennants toy sale.

Boneshaker: A decorative piece of 19th century scrimshaw, carved from a whale’s tooth, is set to fetch £2,000-£3,000 at a David Duggleby maritime sale in Scarboroug­h on Friday.

Fillpot legacy: A 19th century Yorkshire pearlware Toby jug depicting a seated man with blue coat and yellow breeches and an empty mug resting on his left knee, fetched £310 at Woolley & Wallis in Salisbury.

Pop art: A Proctor Celebrated Ginger Beer advertisin­g sign from the 19th century realised £1,200 at Tennants.
