From the Oasthouse: The Alan Partridge Podcast
PO D CA ST
The great man has gone all 21st century on us and only launched his own podcast, proving yet again that Alan is, as he would no doubt tell you himself, right at the cutting-edge of broadcasting innovation.
From the private studio in his newbuild oast house in Norfolk, Steve Coogan’s longtime alter ego regales his audience with self-regarding stories about his glittering career – highlights include accidentally shooting dead a guest live on air and accidentally punching the BBC’s chief commissioning editor with a turkey on a TV Christmas special – and also allows us occasional glimpses of the rarely-seen sensitive side of Alan. (It’s very well-concealed).
Over the course of 18 episodes, as the official description states, he “promises an access-all-areas pass to the nooks and crannies of his hinterland, to reveal a wiser, cleverer, more reflective Alan than many of his more vaunted peers have given him credit for”. There will surely be wisdom, soundbites, insight and nosesnorting guffaws galore. Priceless.
