Dear Style Clinic
My skin has become dry, sensitive and dull recently. Perhaps it is because I have not been having regular facials this past year. What can I do to restore it?
I have also been struggling with rough, dry, sensitive skin on my face – something I have never had to deal with before. I suspect it’s something to do with spending so much time indoors because of the recent bad weather.
I have become a fan of sheet face masks for restoration, rejuvenation and brightening purposes. Good ones can seem expensive (gel ones are best) but they are a successful replacement for a spa facial, handy at the moment if you cannot or do not want to visit a therapist. Sheet gel masks seem to infuse the skin with nourishment more effectively than cream masks. You just place them on for about 15-20 minutes, lie back and smooth any residual skin-beautifying juice into the face and then your neck and decolletage.
Pixi Skintreats Volume Mask has botanical collagen and peptides. Put it in the fridge for a couple of hours first for a depuffing effect.
The Maskologist Rose Glowing Potion Hydrogel Mask is biodegradable and dissolvable in water so use it as a body treatment in the bath once you have used it on your face. It replenishes the skin and leaves a healthy glow.
Seoulista Beauty has some fabulous sheet masks at very reasonable prices. The Two to Twinkle Cleanse & Hydrate Skincare System has a reusable Magic Cleanse pad and two Super Hydration Instant Facials infused with hyaluronic acid, coconut and maple leaf. Smells divine, too.
