Inspired by nature

-

Feature walls are firm favourites with interior designers and architects, especially in luxury settings. Creating a strong design focus, they make memorable interiors and the big trend now is to create these impressive features in our own homes, using decorative finishes to bring colour and texture to hallways, bathrooms, kitchens or living rooms.

In line with this burgeoning trend for decorative detailing – ‘maximalism’ – seen everywhere from fashion catwalks to interiors, Lapicida has launched an exciting new range of highly decorative porcelain slabs.

Beautifully illustrated with eye-catching and colourful designs, these large format tiles co-ordinate with Lapicida’s range of plains to create dramatic feature walls. A natural for shower rooms and bathrooms, they can also be remarkably effective in smaller spaces such as cloakrooms and guest bathrooms.

The main image shown here is San Pietro Blue, a complex and contemporary design depicting a multi-layered historical landscape of decorative surfaces. With a slightly aged aesthetic, it features overlapping and contrasting mosaic effects and brick patterns giving a feeling of both permanence and movement.

Inspired by watercolour illustrations of natural flora and fauna, Botanist is a beautiful free-flowing design which brings a delicate charm to interiors. Small-scale butterflies, dragonflies and swallows are brought to life in large-scale format.

For something with an even more whimsical feel, look at Lapicida’s Madam tile slab. Larger than life, it pays homage to nature, featuring a myriad of exotic butterflies in a wide variety of colours and sizes, making a dramatic statement.

Paradiso Orange is inspired by highly decorative patterns reminiscent of antique silk rugs and takes a traditional pattern then reinvents it with a modern orange, blue and grey colour palette.

A Yorkshire company with a strong international reputation, Lapicida operates from an extraordinary threeacre showroom, garden and workshop complex in Knaresborough, working with top architects and designers as well as individual customers all over the world.

The perfect place to seek inspiration, the showroom displays hundreds of products. Here, too, Lapicida’s traditional artisan stonemasons work alongside technicians operating advanced stone-working equipment.

This melding of bespoke stonemasonry and high-tech process sets Lapicida apart, enabling it to offer bespoke natural stone alongside brilliant porcelains and ceramics for virtually any situation and budget.
