Clarets in sale: Most wine merchants are having sales to clear stock rooms of odd bottles so they can plan ahead for spring. Bon Coeur’s sale runs until February 12 with offers on a fine range of clarets such as the ready-to-drink Ch du Glana 2011, St Julien, down from £24.99 to £22, and the not-quite-ready Les Hauts du Tertre 2015, down from £28.99 to £27. Also well worth a try is Kumeu River Village Chardonnay 2016, down from £12.99 to £11. This is a fabulous estate making top-notch Chardonnays.
