Dear Style Clinic

I am missing the personal spa experience and my DIY efforts are not providing the same skin results or the same level of relaxation. What do you suggest?

I agree wholeheartedly and those of us who have relied on regular facials and spa treatments, not least to aid our mental health, have been missing them sorely. My skin was also telling me I needed to take remedial steps.

So I tried an online Lush Spa Skincare Masterclass, a 30-minute session that is the next best thing that I have found to an actual, physical, therapist-delivered treatment. Best of all, it’s a bit of a bargain, costing £22.95 for a 30-minute session and your products.

First of all, you go online to uk.lush. com and fill out a form to choose five products: a sample size cleanser; a Fresh cleanser; a Naked Facial Oil (full size); a Fresh Face Mask (full size) and a sample size of moisturiser. These are then delivered to your door.

When you book your online treatment time, you are sent a link. You need to have ready two bowls of warm water and two face cloths. During the masterclass, a Lush Spa therapist guides you through cleansing, exfoliating and mask application using simple spa-inspired techniques, with a short meditation using breathing exercises and gentle neck stretches.

The upshot is, it works. It has a personal touch and the exercises really work to make you feel just that little bit special. Plus you have lots of product left over so you can give it another go all by yourself a week or so later.
