Dear Style Clinic

Now that we can go out again (well, sort of), I would like to try out some new perfumes to wear outdoors. Do you have any suggestions?

This is exactly the right time to try new fragrances, now that we can actually meet people who might be able to smell and appreciate them. Mind you, I do have a reasonable amount of my usual fragrances stocked up, because I have not been wasting them over the past year by wearing them around the home. But the time has come to throw caution to the wind and seek out some new scents.

With social distancing remaining in place for the time being, it is worth seeking out fragrances you can be sure will catch the breeze and the nose.

Launched on April 12, Flower by Kenzo eau de toilette is a simple yet beautifully bold floral featuring poppy blossoms for a light and sparkling scent with Sicilian lemon, Bulgarian rose water and a base of white musks and organic vanilla.

For something a little stronger, as in an eau de parfum to wear day to night, the new Jimmy Choo IWantChooisa powerful oriental floral fragrance with top notes of mandarin juice and velvet peach, a heart of red spider lily and jasmine sambac, and a base of vanilla and benzoin.

Abercrombie & Fitch Authentic Night for Women is rich and darkly fruity with top notes of blackcurrant, pink pepper and Pink Lady apple, a heart of tuberose, magnolia and jasmine and a base of cedarwood, sandalwood and patchouli. It’s a striking blend without being overpowering and it is great value.
