Open for spring ideas

-

As we follow the route on the ‘roadmap’ toward a more normal way of living our lives and doing business, Hartleys Bedrooms will be reopening its Skipton showroom from Monday, April 12.

From that day, customers will be able to visit and browse through the collection of room settings showcasing clever ideas for creating extra space and improving the functionality of your home.

Located on Snaygill Industrial Estate, easily accessible from the town centre or Skipton bypass, the spacious showroom provides ample space for customers to browse in safety and Hartleys will still be providing measures such as masks and sanitiser for maximum reassurance.

It will be open on Saturdays, as well as weekdays, and although appointments are not necessary during normal opening hours, out-of-hours visits can be arranged in advance if required.

Hartleys has used the past months of showroom closure to undertake a major expansion and refurbishment of the space, which now features new living room, multi-purpose and home study room sets, with more improvements still to come.

As the days grow longer and temperatures rise, you might be feeling in the mood for a dash of spring cleaning as a way of refreshing the look of your home.

A crucial factor in a good-looking room is having sufficient storage space and Hartleys are masters of the art of ‘smart storage’ – maximising space with bespoke designed furniture, tailored to your room and to your specific requirements.

“Multi-purpose furniture is the key to getting the most out of available space,” says Hartleys’ Sara Haggas. “It allows, for example, a bedroom to double as a home office or a spare room to become a space for both work – or study –and play.

“This is particular boon given that, whatever the future may hold, all the evidence points to working at least part of the time from home becoming the norm for many people.”

Spring is also the time when new home trends emerge and, not surprisingly, many of this year’s are driven by a reaction to the past 12 months and revolve around making ourselves feel safe and comfortable, giving an impression of space and connecting with nature.

“It’s not a new concept but ‘cottagecore’ is a big trend across the world,” says

Sara. “It’s like a warm comfort blanket embracing the home using colours, patterns and details your granny might well have adopted!”

At the opposite end of the spectrum, Japandi is a minimalist approach. “It’s a fusion of east and west, in which Scandinavian elements are teamed with the design traditions of Japan,” says Sara.

“Biophilic design embraces nature, bringing the outdoors into the home, while there is also a move to surrounding ourselves with little things which make us smile, which can have a huge impact on how we feel.”
