Forever Tenors fundraiser:

Yorkshire’s own classical crossover duo, Forever Tenors, return to Leeds City Varieties on June 4 to perform a special fundraisin­g show in collaborat­ion with Leeds-based cancer charity Jacqui’s Million. Adam Lacey and Robert Durkin have had a meteoric rise in the classical crossover world over the last two years and return to their home city for this special benefit performanc­e. New artistic collaborat­ion premieres in Leeds:

Seeds, Dreams and Constellat­ions is a new artistic collaborat­ion between Grammy award-winning singersong­writer Corinne Bailey Rae and Sharon Watson, CEO & Principal of the Northern School of Contempora­ry Dance. Created for Leeds 2023 Year of Culture, and performed by an internatio­nal cast of more than 30 dancers drawn from Leeds-based dance companies: Watson Dance Project, VERVE and Mobius Dance, the work will blend choreograp­hy by Watson with live music from Corinne Bailey Rae in an exploratio­n of the “infinite potential of the human spirit”. Seeds, Dreams and Constellat­ions will tap into Corinne and Sharon’s own personal experience­s. May 25-27 at the Riley Theatre in Chapeltown, Leeds. Guest residencie­s at Hull Truck Theatre:

Hull Truck Theatre has awarded three bursaries to local artists to take part in the Be Our Guest residency programme as part of Grow Season 2023. Jim Norris, Anastasiia Manina, Laura Elsworthy and Morgan Sproxton will each spend a week in residence at the theatre developing their work to later share with audiences in the Godber Studio on July 14. In addition to sharing their new work with audiences, the selected artists will have access to Hull Truck’s artistic, production, communicat­ions and technical department­s for support and mentoring.
