Yorkshire college appoints new leader
A LOVE of the countryside and a drive to inspire young people to achieve has led to a new appointment within the senior management team at Askham Bryan College.
Sandra Burnhill will join the York-based college next month as executive director.
Mrs Burnhill has spent almost three decades in the education sector, her most recent post being as assistant principal at Kirklees College in West Yorkshire.
The new leader was brought up near Pickering, North Yorkshire, where her parents kept sheep and ran a small egg distribution business. She said: “I am delighted to be joining the team at Askham Bryan College.
“For a while now I have wanted to work with students learning about the land based sector, so it is literally returning to my agricultural roots.”
