Great Britain are locked in a three-way fight for World Championsh­ip gold after breezing past Estonia 5-1 at Belfast’s SSE Arena.

Pete Russell’s team are level on points with fellow undefeated rivals Japan and Lithuania following two rounds of games.

GB’s first serious test looks likely to come tomorrow when they face Lithuania.

GB took a 2-0 first period lead against Estonia through Mark Garside and Sheffield Steelers’ defenceman Davey Phillips.

Roman Andrejev tipped in on the powerplay just before halfway to halve the deficit, but three goals in as many minutes from Liam Stewart, David Clarke and Matthew Myers sealed the win.
