Scott stuns Hull with late flourish

-

Bradley Scott took three wickets in five balls in an incredible ending to the Hull-Scarborough Yorkshire Leagues KO Cup tie that left the sides locked on 279, but put Scarborough into the next round on fewer wickets lost.

Darren Harland (101) and Oliver Stephenson (101) put on 168 for Scarborough, but it looked as though Hull would go through after an opening stand of 177 from George Horsley (63) and Matt Wilkinson (86).

They had wickets in hand as they closed on victory, but then Scott struck in a dramatic finale.

Sam Drury smashed 13 fours and ten sixes in an unbeaten 151 as Treeton raced to 327-8.

Barnsley looked set to match them when Thomas Whittaker (98) and Beck Frostick (54) put on 140 for their second wicket, but even a gutsy 65 from No 8 Dan Waldron could not quite get the visitors over the line.

Will Root hit 120 in 105 balls and put on 117 with Simon Guy (60) to put Sheffield Collegiate on the way to a 150-run win at Hallam.

Mark Mierzwinski (125) shared century stands with Paul Skilbeck (52) and Josh Greenlay (46) as Easingwold scored 2956, but for the second time in three days Acomb chased them down after an opening century stand between Joe Schofield (74) and Dan Watkinson (85).

A century partnership between brothers Andrew (67) and Chris Bilton (92), was the highlight of Woodhouse Grange’s 250-5. Josh Jackson then picked up 4-25 as Driffield Town were bowled out for 185 despite a later flourish from Danny Broumpton (58) and Mark Goddard (28).

David White (69) top scored in Tickhill’s 222-9 and Alex Rowland picked up 5-14 as Cleethorpes were dismissed for 121.

Stamford Bridge’s middle order, led by Donavan Sinclair (57), saw them to 253 and on course for a 106-run win at Clifton Alliance
