‘Teach genetics to help students’

Secondary school children could improve their understand­ing of evolution by being taught genetics first, a study says. Currently, evolution and genetics are taught separately. The University of Bath said the key components of genetics, such as DNA and mutation, were so linked to the core concepts of evolution that priming students with genetics informatio­n might help their understand­ing of evolution.
