Grants to protect Dales’ rich heritage
A YORKSHIRE Dales charity is offering grants for conservation projects in Ingleborough that restore or celebrate the area’s rich historical and natural heritage.
The grants are part of Stories in Stone, a four-year programme of community and heritage projects developed by the Ingleborough Dales Landscape Partnership, which is led by the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust and mainly funded through the Heritage Lottery Fund.
Projects supported by previous grants include walk leaflets about archaeological features on Ingleborough and the restoration of a 16th century packhorse bridge. Chris Lodge, the trust’s Stories in Stone project officer, said: “If you have an idea for a local heritage project, I’d be delighted to hear from you and I can help you to develop your application.”
The deadline for applications is 10am on June 27.
