Appeal over theft of £200 plant in pot

Police are appealing for information after a man damaged and stole a large £200 plant from a display.

The 3ft plant had been growing in the council-owned pot for five years before it was uprooted.

The theft in Baxtergate, Whitby, happened at 1am on Saturday, May 6, but police only released details yesterday.

Anyone with information is being urged to contact North Yorkshire Police officers on the non-emergency number of 101.
