Battling boy Bradley makes memories on Yorkshire family trip

-

HIS BRAVE battle against a rare form of cancer has captured the hearts of people across the world.

And while his relatives have admitted they do not know how long terminally-ill Bradley Lowery has left to live, the six-year-old is said to be “super excited” about taking a family holiday to Scarborough.

The family of the young Sunderland fan, who suffers from the rare type of cancer called neuroblastoma, have had to cancel several holidays in the past as he was too unwell to travel.

Bradley has moved people around the world with his battle against the disease and has even struck up a friendship with footballer Jermain Defoe.

In a post on the Bradley Lowery’s fight against neuroblastoma Facebook page, his mother, Gemma, wrote: “Well after booking up and having to cancel several holidays the day has come where we are going away to Scarborough for a break. Bradley is super excited and is feeling good in himself when he is awake.

“We’re not sure if we will get to stop the full week yet but we will just take each day as it comes.”

She signed it off with the hashtags #makingmemories #bradley’smile #alwaysbegrateful.

Last month Bradley was joined by striker Defoe and Sunderland keeper Vito Mannone for his birthday party.

The celebrations also included fire-eaters, a funfair, marquee, jugglers and stilt-walkers.

Bradley also walked out with Defoe for his England comeback match at Wembley.

Football has also been at the heart of fundraising to help support Bradley’s care, with fans setting aside any sporting rivalry.

A group of Leeds United fans unfurled a banner pledging support for Bradley during a home win over Brighton and Hove Albion in March, while Emmerdale and Hollyoaks actors were among those lacing up their boots for a charity match at Ossett Town in West Yorkshire last month.
