Spieth into double figures after win
Jordan Spieth won a play-off with fellow American Daniel Berger to record a wire-to-wire victory at the Travelers Championship at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Connecticut.
The former world No 1, from Texas, led the field by a single stroke for three days, but his final-day 70 and a three-under 67 from Berger allowed the Floridian to match Spieth on 12 under.
It looked like Spieth might have blown his bid for a 10th PGA Tour title when he found a bunker on his approach to the replayed 18th hole, but he holed from the sand for a decisive birdie.
Spieth celebrated his winning chip by hurling his club towards caddie Michael Greller before chest-bumping him. After Tiger Woods, he is only the second golfer since 1983 to claim double-digit tour wins before their 24th birthdays.
