Vets to star in special edition of country celebratio­n

AUTUMN FOOD and farming show Countrysid­e Live,will have a new look this year when the stars of a hit TV series take centre stage.

The little sister of the Great Yorkshire Show has been renamed ‘The Yorkshire Vet at Countrysid­e Live’ as Channel 5 joins the Yorkshire Agricultur­al Society as the event’s organisers.

Due to be held at the society’s showground in Harrogate on October 21-22, co-stars Julian Norton and Peter Wright will be the main attraction­s in what is promised to be a “bigger and better” weekend-long event. There will be live Yorkshire Vet shows in the main ring, an expanded children’s section including Channel 5’s Milkshake

Society, said: “After 14 years of putting on a successful Countrysid­e Live, we are absolutely delighted to be joining forces with the hugely popular stars of the Yorkshire Vet. We saw how popular they were at the Great Yorkshire and are sure they will go down a storm.”

Fans queued to see the vets at the summer show, where they filmed footage for a special episode of the programme which is due to air next month. The Yorkshire Posts’s Country Week columnist Mr Norton said he was looking forward to the October show. “The event is a celebratio­n of the fantastic rural and agricultur­al heritage of Yorkshire. Some of the county’s finest livestock will be on display and should inspire everyone.”

Advance tickets go on sale on Friday, September 1, priced £7 for children and £14 for adults. Advance family tickets are £40.
