THE CHAIR of the company running Hull’s City of Culture year has a new four-day-a-week job in London.

Journalist and broadcaster Rosie Millard has been appointed deputy chief executive of the Creative Industries Federation (CIF), which represents arts, creative and cultural industries.

The role is on top of Ms Millard’s role as chair of Hull UK City of Culture 2017 Ltd, for which she was paid £35,000 in 2015 to 2016, according to Companies House accounts.

CIF said she would play a key role developing the organisation’s strategic direction.

Chief executive John Kampfner said: “Rosie will make a fantastic addition to the Creative Industries Federation.

“Her broad range of talents and experiences from across media and culture will be an invaluable asset as we enter an exciting new phase of growth.”

A spokeswoman for CIF added: “As well as her Hull Board and chair duties, she will be doing lots of speaking engagements and events in Hull throughout the year and into next year.”

In July it was revealed that the chief executive of City of Culture celebrations has a second job as executive producer of Edinburgh’s Hogmanay.

Martin Green was drafted in to advise on a revamp of the world-famous New Year’s Eve celebrations.
