-

BORIS JOHNSON’S father Stanley has landed in Australia for I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!

The former Conservative MEP is reported to have said that he is “excited” to be joining the ITV reality show.

Following his arrival, the 77-year-old became joint favourite with Hollyoaks star Jamie Lomas to be crowned the programme’s king of the jungle.

Also in the frame is former Leeds United manager Dennis Wise – who could face a backlash from Whites fans as he was in charge when the club was relegated to the third tier of English football for the first time in its history.

Viewers at home will get the chance to decide which of the programme’s contestants have to tackle its infamous – and not for the faint-hearted – bushtucker trials.

Others taking part in this year’s show, once again fronted by Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, include Coronation Street actress Jennie McAlpine and boxer Amir Khan. The Saturdays singer Vanessa White, Made In

Chelsea star Georgia Toffolo and YouTube vlogger Jack Maynard have also landed in Australia.

And, once the series hits its stride, they will also be able to vote for their best-liked celebrities and choose this year’s winner.

The show returns on Sunday, with co-host McPartlin telling

The Sun he is “feeling great” after a stint in rehab.

Last year’s series was won by Scarlett Moffatt from Channel 4’s

Gogglebox. Celebrities with Yorkshire connections who have appeared on the programme in the past include Leeds model Nell McAndrew and former Emmerdale actresses Sheree Murphy and Malandra Burrows.
