RING CONTENDER: JOSHUA OFFERS TO BE ROYAL’S BEST MAN

PRINCE HARRY joined the heavyweights of journalism by interviewing both his father, Prince Charles, and former US president Barack Obama, while also commissioning a chat with champion boxer Anthony Joshua during a stint as guest editor of BBC Radio 4’s Today programme.
The prince gave an insight into fiancée Meghan Merkle’s first royal Christmas when questioned by Today presenter Sarah Montague.
Harry joined the presenters of the current affairs programme in the studio and said the issues he had chosen, which included mental health and the Armed Forces, were “incredibly important topics” that “need to be discussed.”
The prince talked to Obama and the statesman warned that the irresponsible use of social media is distorting the public’s understanding of complex issues and leading to the spread of misinformation. Some saw this as a veiled attack on well- known Twitter user President Donald Trump.
Obama looked back on the day he handed over power to Mr Trump and despite feeling satisfied he says it was “mixed with all the work that was still undone”.
He added: “Concerns about how the country moves forward but, you know, overall there was serenity there.”
Boxer Joshua offered to be Harry’s best man, after appearing on radio at the royal’s request. The prince had boxed during his time in the Army, and Joshua was interviewed in the sports round-up segment about his career.
Meanwhile, Charles told his son that climate change is causing “untold horrors” across the world. In a wide ranging interview, he warned that technology “can’t solve our relationship with nature”.
In his own interview, Harry said Ms Markle had a “fantastic” time with the Queen and his family over Christmas at Sandringham.
Asked about how she coped meeting the “in-laws” the prince replied: “It was fantastic, she really enjoyed it.”
