Homes evacuated after shop fire

Homes were evacuated yesterday morning after a large blaze at a shop.

The fire broke out in Hessle Road in Hull shortly before 5.30am and the road was closed to all traffic and pedestrians at the junctions with Boulevard, West Dock, Subway Street and Eton Road as a safety precaution.

Humberside Police said the cause of the fire was under investigation.
