‘Let public see how land is run’

-

THE FIVE-YEAR plan for the Dales says Brexit is an opportunity to “rethink the way in which farming and land management can be better supported to deliver public benefits in a National Park”.

It calls for more work to allow members of the public to see the measures put in place to manage wildlife habitats on privately owned land that is being used for farming and sport.

Wider public support will be essential to secure taxpayer funding to support “high-nature value farming and land management”, the report says.

It also calls for the establishment of “cycle hubs” fuelled by the success of the Tour de Yorkshire race.
