New contract wins set Business Waste on path to increasing turnover

A WASTE management and recycling company is on track to increase turnover from £5.5m to £8.5m in 2018 after securing a number of new commercial contracts.

York-based Business Waste was launched in York in 2015 and employs 45 people at its Artemis House premises in Heworth Green.

David Adams, managing director of Business Waste, said: “Since launching our business we have gone from strength to strength and we are looking ahead to continued success in 2018.

“We are projecting significan­t turnover growth this year and are looking to expand our headcount to 55 to meet the increasing demand for our services.”

As part of the growth the company is planning to create an additional ten jobs in 2018.

Business Waste provides waste management, disposal and recycling services to the hospitalit­y, healthcare, manufactur­ing and financial services sectors throughout the UK.

Its clients include BBC, Britannia Hotels, Islington Council, We Buy Any Car, Deliveroo and Waitrose.

The firm appointed Leeds and York-based accountanc­y firm Garbutt + Elliott to provide payroll, accountanc­y services and business planning advice to support its growth.

Mr Adams said: “The support and advice of Garbutt + Elliott has been invaluable and we’re confident that the firm will help us grow and achieve our commercial objectives.”

He added: “Our success has been built on creating long-lasting relationsh­ips based on trust, reliabilit­y, exceptiona­l service and honesty and we feel Garbutt + Elliott also embodies those values.”
