Labour pulls ‘blue’ election flyer
LABOUR HAS pulled a local election leaflet which accused the Conservatives of “s ****** g on us to fund tax cuts for the wealthy” from circulation.
Kirklees Council deputy leader Shabir Pandor, election agent for the Batley East seat in which the leaflet was circulated, said party figures did not notice the bad language when reproducing a graphic downloaded from the internet.
A party source quipped: “The wording may be a touch blue but there’s no doubt it creates a vivid message.
“It means thousands of leaflets down the pan, so to speak.”
With the race to become Sheffield City Region’s first mayor getting closer to the finish line, all candidates have agreed to a live debate.
The debate is set to take place on April 25 at BBC Radio Sheffield, in association with The Star newspaper in Sheffield. It will be hosted by presenter Toby Foster.
