More women are car own­ers

MO­TOR­ING: Fe­male car own­er­ship in the UK has grown by more than a fifth in the past decade, new fig­ures show.

Some 11.8m cars were owned by women last year, up 21 per cent since 2007. This is com­pared with a rise of 10 per cent for men, reach­ing 17.8m in 2017. The anal­y­sis, by the So­ci­ety of Mo­tor Man­u­fac­tur­ers and Traders, said au­to­matic cars have dou­bled since 2007.
