Kayak mission to show fish problem

AIRE: Conservationists will paddle 35 miles by kayak along the River Aire this weekend to demonstrate the challenges migratory fish face as they journey to spawn.

Prof Jonathan Grey and Dr Tim Jacklin will travel from Gargrave to Leeds to highlight a £16m scheme that will see four fish passes installed on the river at Armley Mills, Kirkstall Abbey, Newlay Bridge and Salts Mill.
