Man, 19, in court after women hurt

A MAN from West Yorkshire is due to appear before Preston Crown Court after three women were injured when they were hit by a car in Blackpool.

Jake Hartley, 19, was at Blackpool Magistrate­s’ Court for a brief appearance yesterday, charged with nine offences in relation to the crash on Saturday night.

Hartley, whose address in court was given as the Waggon and Horses in Rochdale Road, Todmorden, is accused of attempted grievous bodily harm with intent, three counts of assault relating to the three injured women, dangerous driving, driving without a licence, driving without insurance and possession of a weapon capable of incapacita­tion, a stun-gun.

He is also accused of drinkdrivi­ng. No pleas were entered and Hartley was remanded into custody.
