Drivers are warned over delays

-

MOTORISTS HAVE been warned to expect severe delays as work is carried out at a junction on a major route into a Yorkshire city.

York Council announced yesterday that contractors will carry out the scheme to replace ageing and unreliable traffic lights at the St Helen’s Road junction with Tadcaster Road from Monday next week.

The work is expected to last up to six weeks, and will include temporary lights. The council is advising drivers to allow more time for journeys, consider alternative routes or use options including park-and-ride facilities.
